ANIMALS
Insects
1. The students click on ‘What?’ and then choose an insect. Ask them to name the parts of this insect.
2. Your students can also click on ‘Where?’ to learn about habitats or ‘Why?’ to play a game about pet care.
Visit the zoo
1. Your students are going to visit Barcelona Zoo! They click on ‘Virtual Tour’ and then click on the red spots on the map to get 360 degree views of the zoo. Set them a time limit, for example five minutes, and see how many animals they can find in the zoo in that time.
2. If the children click on the animal, they will see an information card about it. Ask them to select one of the animals and see if they can find out the following:
Where does it live? (for example, desert or jungle)
What does it eat? (Is it carnivorous?)
How big is it?
How many babies does it have?
3. The children design their own information card for the animal.
ART
Colouring activity
Choose 'Help Arthur Get Ready for school'. Read the story and play the game.
Art competition
1. Put the children in pairs. Ask the students to click on ‘Gallery’. Ask them to imagine the paintings are entries in an art competition. Who would they give first prize to? Who would come second or third? Ask them to give one reason in English for their choices and remember to take the age of the child into account!
2. The children compare their decisions with another pair and explain their choices.
3. Compare the results as a class and find out who is the overall winner of the art competition.

Write the dialogues
Select 'Girl and Alien'. Write the story and click on 'Create'. Now, you can save or print it.
DINOSAURS
Dino-Facts
Click on 'Dinosaurs'. Click on 'Dino-Facts' and Read about the dinosaurs. Select one and see the picture, and describe it. Print it if you want and colour it.
FESTIVALS
Hallowe'en
Click on 'Halloween Hide and Seek'. Play the game.
Ramadan
1. Ask the students to go to the website, read the text about Ramadan and answer the questions.
1. When is Ramadan?
2. Is the Islamic calendar based on the moon or the sun?
3. What does ‘sawm’ mean?
(Answers: 1. It’s the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. 2. The Islamic calendar is based on the moon (lunar calendar). The calendar used in the West is based on the sun (solar calendar). 3.’Sawm’ means that Muslims don’t eat anything while the sun shines.)
FOOD
Pizza place
Tell your students they are going to meet Chef Norm at The Garden Pizza Place. They follow his instructions to make a pizza.
Friendship fruit freeze
Select 'Friendship Fruit Freeze'. Read how to make a 'fruit dessert' and prepare it with your teacher or at home.
Fish food
Play 'Fish Food'. Use the mouse to move and press the mouse button to eat.
Design a cereal box
1. Ask your students what they like to eat for breakfast. Ask how many of them eat cereal. Tell the students that breakfast cereals are very popular in many countries, especially in the United States, so a lot of money is spent on the advertising!
2. Tell them they are going to design a new cereal packet. They go to the website above and click on ‘advertising tricks’ and then on ‘design a cereal box’ and follow the instructions.
3. When they have finished their design, they should copy it onto a piece of paper to display in the classroom. They can change the character on the front if they want to.

Word games
This is the children’s website for the British Council. Your students can play a word game by clicking on ‘Games’ and again on ‘word games’. They can then choose a word game from the list to play. The games are graded easy, medium or difficult. Encourage your students to start with an easy game and progress through the levels.

Haunted House
This is a 'Haunted House'. Play the game. You need to find an object in each room. Read and listen to the clue for each room.
HUMAN BODY
Bones
1. Ask your students to put Annie back together again!
2. Write the following list of bones on the board: a) femur b) humerus c) radius and ulna d) rib cage e) skull f) tibia and fibula. Write the following parts of the body on the right of the board: arm, chest, head, leg.
Ask the students to play the game again and read the texts. The information in the texts will help them match the bones to the part of the body.
(Answers: The humerus, radius and ulna are in the arm. The rib cage is in the chest. The skull is in the head. The femur, tibia and fibula are in the leg.)
KIDS' WORLD
Kids' work
1. Tell your students to click on ‘Kids Work’ and again on ‘Who am I?’ Here they can read letters from children around the world. Ask them to find out what countries the children come from.
2. In pairs, ask the children to find a letter they like and write a reply. Display the letters and the replies in the classroom.
MUSIC
Play an instrument
1. Say or write the following musical instruments on the board: drums, flute, guitar, piano, recorder, saxophone, trumpet. Ask the children to mime playing each of the instruments.
2. Your students can make up tunes on this website, by choosing an instrument and following the instructions of how to play it.
The musical instruments change regularly so the students can go back to the site to play different instruments.

Click on 'If you are happy'. Read, listen and sing the song.
POSTCARDS & PLACES
Barnaby's Photos
Click on 'Barnaby's Photos'. Read and find out where these pictures are from.
Send a postcard
This is a simple writing task for your students. They click on the red button and then on ‘Postcards’ to write and send a postcard.
The instructions are very simple:
1. They keep clicking on ‘next’ until they get a list of topics.
2. They choose a topic and select a picture they like.
3. They click on ‘postcard’ and click on the yellow printer at the bottom of the screen to print it out.
4. They read the instructions and write a postcard to someone they know.
