The English UK South West Annual Conference and AGM took place at the beautiful Bicton College. Surrounded by 200 hectares of parkland, the college is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The conference offered workshops following three main strands: Management and Marketing, DOS, and Teaching and Learning. The plenary 'Current Trends in the English Language Industry' was presented by Tony Millns, while among the many interesting workshops was a session by Richmond author Bess Bradfield 'Texts and Teenagers'. Her hands-on workshop provided quick and easy ideas for exploiting course books with teenagers and young adults. The emphasis was on optimising motivation and engagement as well as learning.
